Julius is an easygoing, levelheade, but worrywart father. Julius had two jobs as a newspaper delivery man and a security guard. As a result of being in debt, he is always extra worried about spending money. Though Julius does things that put his family through a great deal of hardship, he does it to protect them financially.

He doesn't think things are useful if they won't get you a job. He often gives Chris advice and has a special connection with him. Although he seems easy going when it comes to punishment, it is revealed in one episode that he has a belt for every misdemeanor (one for lying, stealing, lying and stealing, getting someone pregnant, and doing drugs actually came with its own handgun). He has never done any physical discipline to the kids onscreen except for one episode where Chris didn't get Julius' lottery ticket and the episode ends with Chris running away from Julius, who is seen charging at Chris with an angry facial expression (implying that he is about to give him a whooping). He is frequently seen instantaneously adding up the exact value of items when he believes that their price is too high. He also hates losing money. His favorite TV show is The Young and the Restless. He has a disdain for Rochelle's younger brother Michael who refers to him as, "big man!" He is jealous of his younger brother Lois because of his success and skills. He is potrayed by Terry Crews.

"That's 49 cent of spilt milk drippin' all over the table. Somebody gon' drink this milk!"

"If you smell smoke, and you think the house is going to catch fire, get your brother and your sister and get out of here. If you smell gas, and you think the house is going to blow up, get your brother and your sister and get out of here. If you smell smoke, and your brother catches on fire, get your sister and get out of here."

"You lost ten dollars? That's ten dollars worth of dollars!"
